What Does Labor Feel Like

What does labor feel like? A pain that can be compared to the worst leg cramp or charlie horse rather, times 10! On aug. 17th I witnessed what labor looks like from the other end. My mother was giving birth to her 7th child and the reaction she gave out was just something I would never want to go through again. When you go into labor, soon after comes contractions which can go from 8 minutes apart down to 1 or 2 minutes apart within an hour. Contractions are for the most part the pain that really hurts most. Depending on the person giving birth. Once it gets closer to time to push the baby out, you have the choice of an epidural which can slow and sometimes control how much pain you have during labor. So at times, people feel less pain and its a piece of cake during labor. Some people don't feel what labor feels like because it all happens so quick with them. Labor feels like a great big brush of hell! Well, to certain people. I have heard of people saying that it feels great and they can't wait until they get to hold the baby afterwards. Some say they will have lots of kids just to feel the joy of labor and the excitement of the after birth. But to be on the other end and watching someone else in labor who does not enjoy what labor feels like, it makes you want to faint! You kind of start to feel bad when you can't do anything to help the person in pain. So I tell you that labor varies person to person. some enjoy it, others not so much.
